Breathing Earth

Breathing Earth

A self-sustaining village that operates with the natural energies of wind and sunlight, Breathing Earth, is a project planned by Susumu Shingu, who has been making sculptures that move by the natural energies of wind and water.
astronomers, oceanographers, engineers, artists, educators and such collaborate to protect the natural environment of our stars and connect it to the future while utilizing organic energy and developing organic agriculture. I will continue to do specific research.

We also invite children from all over the world, mainly local children, to conduct practical learning and presentations on agriculture, outdoor observation, painting and modeling. In the open air theater, we regularly perform unique events such as original performing arts and concerts that were born here and can only be experienced here.

In Breathing Earth, a village where unique and beautiful wind turbines are always spinning, all the elements of our earth's nature, such as wind, sun, earth, rain, and sea, come together to welcome visitors.

Satoyama Windmill, is equipped with the generator to produce energy with wind power, is permanently installed in Susumu Shingu WIND MUSEUM.

Breathing Earth

Atelier in the Rice Paddies was held from June 11 to September 25, 2011 as the first step forward to realize Breathing Earth. This is a project to play and learn with children in the rice paddies lasting around four months through the change of seasons from the time of planting to the time of harvest.
The sculptures in the rice paddies were the stage settings of the workshops for children. The main characters are children, who were sending encouraging messages created in the various workshops out into the world. We'll try to discover how we should live in the future on this planet by learning from nature.
