Susumu Shingu - Une utopie d'aujourd'hui at Domaine National de Chambord, France, as an exhibition to follow Leonardo's exhibition L'utopie à l'oeuvre which celebrates the 500th anniversary after the death of Leonardo da Vinci. The 1/20 scale model of Susumu Shingu's utopia ATELIER EARTH which he plans in Arimafuji Park, as well as many of his outdoor and indoor sculptures are exhibited in and around Chambord Castle.

The exhibition Susumu Shingu a utopia of today has begun. Yellow sales of Wind Caravan sculptures line up in front and on the axis in the garden of the Chambord Castle.In the end of the axis Ripples of Light is floating in the canal. As soon as the sculptures were installed, it became a popular attraction for visitors.
In one of the rooms in the castle, a super light-weight sculptures of Susumu Shingu are suspended from the ceiling or placed on the floor. There are also plenty of drawings exhibited, so that the visitors can enjoy looking into the artist's ideas. The video shows permanent sculptures installed in various public spaces in the world.
The architectural model in one 20th scale is displayed in another room. This is Shingu's “utopia,” ATELIER EARTH. It is to be built next to the existing Susumu Shingu WIND MUSEUM in Arima Fuji Park in Hyogo Prefecture. When ATELIER EARTH is completed, a huge cultural zone will appear together with the existing Susumu Shingu WIND MUSEUM, of which photographs and video are shown as well.
Shingu's picture books by French publisher, Gallimard, are shown in the next room. Three out of the nine picture books by Gallimard are pop-up books. The latest one is Sandarino of which character comes from Sanda City, Hyogo. The adventures of Sandalino will be developed from now on in books and theater of ATELIER EARTH.
October 5, 2019 The opening
The opening was held on October 5th, 2019, and about 600 Shingu friends from 14 countries gathered. Mr. and Mrs. Masato Kitera, the Japanese Ambassador to France were there among the Japanese group, the Italian group and the French group. It was a nice and welcoming opening in a warm atmosphere.

Conference, Dialogue sur l'Utopie of Yannick Mercoyrol, the exhibition commissioner, and Susumu Shingu was held in Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris.
